The best of all photoinitiator systems for crosslinking PVC compounds, according to tests made with a Tesla RVIM discharge tube, is the combination of chlorthioxanthone and triethanolamine. Pentaerithroltriacrylate is the most effective crosslinking agent. Lead stabilizers give the best heat stability and a higher rate of photochemical crosslinking than tin and antimony stabilizers.
