To develop new composites as advanced anode materials for lithium‐ion batteries, in the present study, we propose a facile technique to synthesize Sn/SnO x @CMK‐3 nanocomposites. The non‐carbonaceous components (two or three phases) present in the Sn‐based composites are probably tuned by changing the exposure duration in the air atmosphere. When being used as an anode for LIBs, the resulted multi‐phase composite, Sn/SnO x @CMK‐3 showed superior electrochemical performances to two‐phase composites such as Sn@CMK‐3 and SnO 2 @CMK‐3. Because of the synergy effect caused by Sn and SnO x , at a specific current of 100 mAg ‐1 the Sn/SnO x @CMK‐3 electrode supplied a high discharge capacity of 702.9 mAhg ‐1 after 100 cycles. The facile synthesis technique for Sn/SnO x @CMK‐3 can be considered as a role model for preparing other anode materials for LIBs.
