Ostruthin was successfully isolated from the extract of Paramignya trimera (Oliver) Burkill roots by centrifugal partition chromatography (CPC) in one run. The two‐phase solvent system composed of n ‐hexane‐ethyl acetate‐methanol‐water (2:1:2:1 v/v) in ascending mode (the upper organic phase was the mobile phase), with flow rate of 8.0 (mL/min) and rotation speed of 1600 rpm, was used. The purity of the ostruthin after isolation is 97.5 % confirmed by HPLC‐DAD at 320 nm. The present study highlights the ability of a CPC system to obtain high purity ostruthin directly from the P. trimera roots ethyl acetate extract.
