From the methanol extract of Aralia chinensis leaves, three terpene glycosides ( 1 ‐ 3 ) and one lignan glycoside (4) were isolated by using various chromatographic methods. Their chemical structures were identified as (2 R, 6 S )‐borane‐2,6‐diol 2‐O‐ β ‐D‐apiofuranosyl‐(1→6)‐glucopyranoside ( 1 ), 3‐O‐ β ‐D‐glucopyranosyl‐(1→3)‐ β ‐D‐glucuronopyranosyl‐oleanolic acid‐28‐ O ‐ β ‐D‐glucopyranoside ( 2 ), 3‐O‐[ α ‐L‐arabinofuranosyl‐(1→4)‐ O ‐ β ‐D‐glucopyranosyl‐(1→3)]‐ β ‐D‐glucuronopyranosyl‐oleanolic acid‐28‐ O ‐ β ‐D‐glucopyranoside ( 3 ), and liriodendrin ( 4 ) by using combination ofESI‐MS, 1D and 2D NMR spectral data as well as by comparison with the previous literature.
