Using combined chromatographic methods, two flavonol glycosides and one dammarane‐ type saponin were isolated from the methanol extract of the leaves of Gouania leptostachya . Their structures were elucidated to be quercetin 3‐ O‐β ‐D‐xylopyranosyl‐(1 → 2)‐α‐L‐rhamnopyranoside ( 1 ), quercetin 3‐ O‐ 6‐ E ‐ p ‐coumaroyl‐ β ‐D‐glucopyranosyl‐(1 → 2)‐ α ‐L‐rhamnopyranoside ( 2 ) and joazeiroside A ( 3 ) by 1D‐, 2D‐NMR, and MS spectra and in comparison with those reported in the literature. These compounds have been reported from the Gouania genus for the first time.
