Hydantoin compounds tagged 3‐(3,3‐diethylureido)‐N‐(4‐hydroxyphenyl)‐2,4‐dioxoimi dazolidine‐1‐carbothioamide (3a) and N‐(4‐aminophenyl)‐3‐(3,3‐diethylureido)‐2,4‐dioxoimidazolidine‐1‐carbothioamide (3d) were studied for their ability to inhibit mild steel corrosion in 0.5 M HCl using gravimetric, potentiodynamic polarization, and electrochemical impedance techniques. Various thermodynamic parameters for the adsorption of these inhibitors on mild steel was computed and discussed. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) analysis were carried out to characterize the surface film.
