Besides the procedural requirements in recent years, investment and operation costs have become increasingly important. As part of this essay concerning the simplification of the construction and reduction of the maintenance costs, new expertise regarding the processes in liquid‐ring vacuum pumps is presented. The analysis of existing, single‐stage liquid‐ring vacuum pumps with valve technology covering the whole pressure range was the point of origin for a new development. The result of the examinations is now a new model, which sets new standards concerning the growing cost consciousness. The combination of new expertise with existing experiences led to a considerable simplification of the construction and an improvement of the operating behavior. The latest technologies and possibilities of production made possible a robust and low‐cost construction.
