Scientific investigations of leak detection problems are being carried out in several directions. The most significant are metrology problems. Mathematical modeling of working processes in new types of leak detectors is also being developed. Mass spectrometer leak detectors remain the most popular for high accuracy measurements. Other types of leak detectors, such as halogen, manometer, and gas discharge, are also developing. Different types of gas discharge leak detectors are being manufactured.
