Membrane technology is finding increasing acceptance in the chemical, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industry to separate gases and vapors. A new development is the separation of organic vapors from off‐gas or process streams. The paper deals with the principle of selective gas permeation, membrane structure, modules and fundamentals of process engineering.
