Conclusion Second trimester UtA diameter in multigenerational HA pregnant resident is more than pregnant women at LA and it contributes to protection of fetal growth • Two linked prospective cohort studies in India • Couples with > 3 antecedent HA generation from SNM Hospital Leh (about 3,500m above sea level),and couple residing in low altitude , from AIIMS, New Delhi, were recruited • Healthy women with singleton pregnancy not affected by chromosomal or structural anomaly , dated by CRL in first trimester • Ultrasound for fetal growth and uterine artery dopplers was done in each trimester. • Uterine artery diameter was measured between 18-23 weeks gestation (Voluson E8, GE), three times before, at and after crossover of external iliac artery on both sides and values averaged . All measurements were taken by same operator at each site. • Fetal growth restriction was defined as birthweight < 5th centile using WHO charts Methodology
