Sonographic picture The uterine cavity appears filled with fluid mixed with echogenic components in almost half of cases. This probably reflects the healing at the placental site, necrosis of the decidua and shedding lochia in presence of closed cervix. Subjects and methods: Transabdominal sonography done weekly for 6 weeks for 160 women after elective caesarean delivery. What would you do if you had this US picture 1-2 weeks after CS? a) Prescribe uterotonics. b) Request second opinion. c) Recommend surgical evacuation. d) Arrange follow-up. e) Assure as normal.
