When Steve Shablin graduated from college with a degree in theology and philosophy, he wasn't sure what career he wanted to pursue. The president of his college suggested he apply for a registrar position at the institution that had opened up. More than 35 years later, Shablin, now University Registrar at Michigan State University, is still passionate about working in higher education, where he has mostly served in the Registrar's Office. With a new initiative always launching and a community of scholars to connect with, he said he's never been bored. “It doesn't feel like work,” he added.
