In an April 9, 2021 Inside Higher Education article, John Fink and Davis Jenkins reported that 82% of public high schools offered dual enrollment to 1.5 million students. On the higher education end, a 2016 American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers survey reported that 78% of the 388 colleges responding participated in dual enrollment options with high schools. Fink and Jenkins also reported that 25% of all new students to public four‐year institutions had dual enrollment credits when they entered.
