Although the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act is mostly known for the privacy rights it grants to students, it also affords them the right to access and review their education records. Pursuant to 20 U.S.C. 1232g(a)(1)(A), colleges and universities may not adopt policies that deny students and former students — or prevent them from exercising — the right to “inspect and review” their education records.
