Liesl Fowler's long history at Augustana University gives her insight about the overall student experience that helps her in her job as registrar. She was a student at Augustana. She also coached the women's volleyball team for years, a position she says that helped prime her for her responsibilities in the Registrar's Office. “People that don't have the benefit of being in the room [the Registrar's Office] when those conversations take place have no appreciation for the work that has to be done behind the scenes to keep the college going every day,” Fowler said.
