He couldn't believe it. He (a registrar) couldn't believe that the Family Policy Compliance Office prevented a college from placing an expiration date on a student's right of nondisclosure. He thought that any college could do it (or so he said in an email I mentioned in last month's column). And he used, as a basis for his conclusion, a statement in an opt‐out (nondisclosure) form on page 116 of the 2012 AACRAO FERPA Guide below.
