Penile cancer is a rare malignancy and is associated with a high morbidity and mortality in advanced cases, and significant psychosocial implications for those afflicted. In this article the authors review the relationship between recognised risk factors, including human papillomavirus, lichen sclerosis, circumcision and penile cancer.
