Depression as a result of becoming a parent is increasingly recognised in men and not solely as a disease affecting women. However, as the author discusses, signs and symptoms of perinatal depression in men can differ from those seen in women. Therefore, a modified approach is needed, not least in the tools used to identify the condition.
