As on‐line degree programs are made available in greater numbers, the necessity of employing clearly articulated criteria for consistent evaluation across programs becomes increasingly evident. The best starting point for such assessment efforts is “Best Practices for Electronically Offered Degree and Certificate Programs,” developed by the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education.
