In 2020, Latin American economies are facing a number of challenges and opportunities derived from regional and global events. Latin American economies have a number of factors and components to positioned and warrant these economies amongst one of the world's fastest growing regions. However, for the last four decades, the region has shown a weak and volatile economic performance, with periods of booms and busts. This paper assesses the region's main challenges and opportunities on its quest towards implementing an inclusive, equitable, competitive, and sustainable economy and society.
