Lots of process systems are affected by mutual interaction between inputs and outputs. Therefore, in designing a single‐input/single‐output (SISO) control system, it is often the case where the desired control performance cannot be obtained under the influence of inputs/outputs included in other loops. On the other hand, multi‐input/multi‐output (MIMO) control systems can be constructed for such systems, but the control systems design is often complicated. In this letter, the database‐driven PID control scheme is extended in which influence of inputs/outputs other than the main control loop is considered as change of operating conditions. © 2021 Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.
