This paper considers the operation mode planning problem of photovoltaic (PV) generation systems composed of multiple PV generators. The operation mode planning determines whether or not each PV generator supplies electric power. In this paper, we propose a simple optimization algorithm to determine the operation mode of each PV generator. Then, we evaluate the usefulness of the proposed algorithm by a numerical simulation. © 2015 Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan. Published by John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
