This paper proposes a robust‐adaptive scheme for position sensorless control of interior permanent magnet synchronous motors (IPMSMs) using ϵ 1 ‐modification approach. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method is shown by experimental results in low‐speed region. Copyright © 2009 Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.
