This paper presents the evolution of the structural design of one of the tallest structures in the world. The architectural design was developed by Mehrdad Yazdani at Cannon Design Group. The structural design approach is to view the building as a living building. The approach selected uses viscous dampers as an important structural member to be added to the building.
