Undoubtedly, there are few publications involving quadruple modification of various starches and reasons for these are the focal point of this work. This communication looks at the problems associated with native, single modification, dual modification, and triple modification of various starches and explains the reasons for the limited work on quadruple modification of starches. These four stages process are exorbitant, each stage involves several inputs in terms of materials, energy, pressure, temperature, catalyst, reaction medium, and time.
