The chromatographic behaviour of α‐, β‐ and γ‐cyclodextrin on strongly cross‐linked dextran gels was found very characteristic. Their elution sequence (1st γ‐, 2nd α‐, 3rd β‐CD) is identical with the sequence of their decreasing solubility. The retention of α‐ and β‐cyclodextrin depends significantly from the temperature, but does not depend in a measurable extent in the case of γ‐cyclodextrin. An adsorption effect is dominating in the first two cases.
