A chromatographical system consisting of a Sephadex G 200 column and an agarose 2B or 4B column was used for fractionation of native starches. Fractionation of the amylose and amylopectin components was achieved, and the amylose part of starch was subfractionated according to its molecular weight. The molecular weight of amylopectin is beyond the fractionation limit of the agarose and seems to be higher than 20 × 10 6 .
