A Contribution to the Photometric Determination of Traces of Copper and Iron in Glucose Syrup, Starches, Vital Wheat Gluten and Wheat Flour. After decomposition of the sample in a mixture of nitric acid‐sulfuric acid‐perchloric acid the amount of copper and iron is determined photometrically with zinc‐diethyl‐dithiocarbaminate and sulfosalicylic acid, respectively. The reproducibility is estimated by means of statistical methods by using characteristic numbers. Systematical errors caused by mutual disturbance of both elements can be avoided by using complexing agents. The methods are especially useful for routine analysis in a control laboratory.
