DOI: 10.1002/sscp.201800139 The cover picture shows peaks co‐eluting in the first column being heart‐cut into a second column and separated, using the Deans switch. The Deans switch is a controlled flow technology that seamlessly cuts peaks co‐eluting in the first dimension column into the second dimension column for separation, all within the same run. In this article, we report the use of the Deans switch to simultaneously analyze HCHO, H 2 O and other reaction products. The reaction products are separated and analyzed on first column, the HCHO‐H 2 O peak pair co‐eluting from the first column (CP‐Wax 52) is heart cut into the second column (Carboxen Plot 1010) where H 2 O and HCHO are separated and quantified.
