Cover Photo: Slab center segregations with shell bulging, thermal shrinkage, and mechanical reduction are numerically investigated. It is obtained that the transport behaviors with shell bulging and thermal shrinkage are completely different and center segregation is worse with both considered. The control strategy of mechanical reduction in the continuous casting process is to alleviate the relative movement between liquid and solid.
