The cover represents a flow result of the numerically predicted gas jet wiping process, which is a part of continuous galvanizing lines. The compressible turbulent gas jet impinges on the liquid zinc on the sheet and wipes off the excess amount to a remaining layer of few micrometers. In the presented work, it is shown that the turbulent jet flow which is interacting with the liquid zinc film is able to induce waves on the film surface. The model allows a careful adjustment of nozzle‐parameters as well as nozzle‐design improvements to reduce the waves on the coatings.
