In the present work, the effect of different Ca–Si percentage that were added to Hadfield steel on the microstructure, hardness, wear abrasion resistance, and impact toughness are investigated. The optical microscope results verify avoiding of cementite network forming with increasing of Ca–Si modifiers. The results obtained by SEM show that SiO 2 , CaO acts as nuclei for austenite and carbide eutectic formation. The eutectic‐formed affects on hardness, wear abrasion resistance, as well as linear enhancing of impact toughness of as‐cast condition more than 200%.
