Cover Photo: Viscous behavior of molten blast furnace type slags containing TiO 2 has been studied at high temperatures using the rotating spindle method. TiO 2 additions up to 10 wt% lowered the viscosity by depolymerizing the network structure of the silicates and had comparatively little effect on the aluminates. The work provides basic fundamental data on the effect of TiO 2 and possible utilization of TiO 2 containing iron ores for the integrated steelmaker.
