The influence of various reheating temperatures and times on austenite grain growth and dissolution behaviour of precipitates was investigated in three different microalloyed steels. The characteristics of these steels were compared with those of a non‐microalloyed steel of similar basic composition. Then, the interrelationships between precipitate distribution, precipitate dissolution and austenite grain growth were discussed.
