Tensile, impact and fatigue strengths of 0%, 2% and 4% silicon steels of eutectoid compositions have been determined using standard testing methods. Tensile and impact strengths tests show an increase in brittleness (loss in elongation) and an increase in yield point, tensile strength and fatigue strength due to Si additions.
