Determination of the hardenability in 0.3 % Mo and 0 % Mo steels of eutectoid compositions using quantitative standard methods. Slight effect on the Ae 1 temperature, but increase of the incubation period and the completion of austenite decomposition to pearlite by addition of 0.3 % Mo. Evidence by Jominy end quench tests that the addition of molybdenum increases the hardenability of steel.
