Determination of the growth of the carbide layer M 7 C 3 on cementite and austenite with cementite and comparison with the growth on austenite. Micrographs of Fe‐C alloys containing 5.5% C and of different chromium contents obtained by chromizing after various annealing treatments for determination of the morphology of the layer. Presentation of a model of the growth of M 7 C 3 ‐M 3 C layers on cementite based on the performed investigations.
