Abstract An extension of the threaded code technique has been developed. This new development has been used to convert a typical minicomputer into a threaded code machine by the addition of a simple, fast interpreter implemented in microcode. When made directly available to the programmer, the threaded code programming technique is a very convenient and efficient means of structuring programs, particularly in systems where programs are continually being modified.
