Background The first paper in this series explored the general philosophy of evidence‐based practice for sonographers. Aims This paper focuses on a specific type of research question that is of most relevance to the practice of sonography, the diagnostic accuracy study. Conclusion As users of the medical literature, it is important that sonographers are able to accurately read and critically review diagnostic accuracy studies.
