In article number 1701804 , Huseyin Burak Eral and co‐workers report biodegradable hydrogel microparticles that provide information on authenticity and potential deterioration of tagged food or pharmaceutical formulations. The authenticity code and the sensor information are read with a standard microscope which enables verification of the product safety directly prior to consumption to protect consumers from potentially harmful products.
