A novel unidirectional liquid spreading surface inspired by the N. alata peristome is proposed and fabricated by H. Chen and co‐workers in article number 1601676, via two‐step UV photolithography. Its superior unidirectional liquid spreading capability is demonstrated, and the underlying mechanism of unidirectional spreading is investigated. This bio‐inspired surface will advance a variety of applications such as microfluidic devices and self‐lubrication in mechanical engineering.
