Y. Wang, L. M. Liz‐Marzán, and co‐workers show a 3D visualization of electron tomography measurements made on gold nanoparticles formed by seeded growth on gold nanostars, capped with a mixture of dithiols and cationic surfactants. On page 4314, this particular surface chemistry directs gold shell growth into unusual morphologies containing internal gaps, which can be applied as intrinsic hot spots for SERS applications such as sensing or imaging. The image background displays a cross‐sectional view of an encapsulated nanostar, where the internal gaps are clearly visible.
