D. T. Leong and co‐workers investigate the biological effects of several nanoparticles commonly found in food products. Using a panel of human colorectal cell lines, they reveal a complex interdependence between the physiochemical properties of the nanoparticles with the genetic landscape of the cells in effecting a cascade of inflammatory outcomes. On page 3458, this study underscores the important facets involved in understanding the nano‐bio interaction of food‐based nanomaterials in the gut for their subsequent applications.
