H. D. Espinosa and co‐workers demonstrate a method for real‐time monitoring of gene expression in adherent cells. The method consists of delivering mRNA‐detecting molecular beacons into target cells by nanofountain probe electroporation (NFP‐E). On page 2386, the NFP‐E experimental technique enables temporal studies of the same cell without disturbing cell growth, which could be particularly useful for studies of cell differentiation or for probing specific cells within a cell co‐culture population.
