Hollow porous LiMn 2 O 4 microcubes are prepared via a facile template route involving annealing MnCO 3 microcubes, followed by treatment with diluted acid, chemical lithiation with LiI, and calcination under vacuum at 350 °C. These hollow porous nanomaterials with large void volume and high surface area show improved rate capability and excellent cycle life.
