A low‐cost, green method uses the biopolymer xyloglucan to prepare a range of stable nanoparticle nanosuspensions followed by enzyme treatment to give deshelled functional zinc oxide nanorods, magnetite, or cobalt oxide nanoparticles. Application of xyloglucan‐stabilized metal oxide nanoparticles in photocatalytic water splitting is also evaluated.
