Steplike electronic band potentials (band offsets) in core/shell CdS/CdTe nanocrystals (see picture, ML=monolayer) can be tuned between quasi‐type‐II and type‐I regimes by controlling the CdTe shell thickness. The nanocrystals are characterized by transmission electron microscopy, elemental analysis, and optical measurements. These heterostructured nanocrystals show efficient quasi‐type‐II emission profiles, useful for lightelectron conversion technologies.
