A new anodization method , termed cyclic anodization, is presented for the controlled modulation of AAO pores structures with shaped geometries and complex architectures (see figure). By applying periodic oscillatory current signals with different profiles, amplitudes, and periods, to combine mild and hard anodization, it is possible to control the geometry of the modulated pores.
