Matters of state : Highly ordered TiO 2− x N x nanotubes selectively doped with atomic N states instead of molecular N 2 states (see picture) result in an enhanced energy‐storage performance for Li ions. N‐doped nanotubes maintain the anatase structure of pure TiO 2 if nitrogen doping levels are small.
