Multisegment silver–gold alloy nanowire barcodes, with distinct optical‐reflectance striping patterns (see image), have been prepared using the same plating solution and 3–4 different deposition potentials. The new multisegment alloy protocol combines a remarkably high coding capacity with a greatly simplified code production method compared with that of commonly used bimetal nanowires.
